Stratton Skier Wins Historic Olympic Gold

Stratton, Vermont local, Jessie Diggins, and her x-c relay partner, Kikkan Randall, became the first Americans ever to win Olympic gold in women's cross-county skiing with their incredible, leave-it-all-out-on-the-snow emotional performance yesterday in South Korea.

In a sport historically dominated by nordic countries (Sweden took silver, Norway the bronze), this grueling battle of skill, strength, and pure passion was undecided up to the very last second with Diggins beginning the final lap in 3rd place but crossing the finish line a split-second before her nordic competitors. It was one of the most heart pounding edge-of-your-seat Olympic moments you'll ever see.
